Well, things don’t always get done when we think they will do they?

Yes, yes my friends, no matter how I try to spin it, shame is a part of the reason—the reason why my blogging has been so minimal.

For the last few weeks I have expected that I would have a song from my album ready to preview to you wonderful friends of mine. I have expected this pretty much everyday! Every time that I had something wonderful to blog about I would simply set it out of my mind. “I don’t need to blog about that crazy thing that happened today because I am surely going to be able to post one of my really wonderfully produced songs today; that will be so much cooler than that ridiculously crazy thing that just happened.”

I have had so many wonderful things to blog about that were simply lost to moments passed by. Shame. Even now. I had thought for sure that at least one song would be mixed and mastered so that the next thing that I posted would be a tune.

Now my dilemma still remains: Bloggable moments are so trivial in comparison to the music that I am aching to post!

(this is the part of the blog where I am supposed to say “BUT…” and either produce the light at the end of the tunnel or the song that is actually done.

…but lets be more real than that).

To be continued…

What do you mean you don’t twitter?! I was talking with Ray, a good friend of mine, and I couldn’t understand why he doesn’t twitter. I thought to myself, he is an interesting individual the world needs a chance to see the world through his eyes; but he doesn’t twitter.

Do you know about Twitter? Here, look to your right. No, not at the pictures. Below that. Those simple little blurbs are my contributions to my Twitter community. Now, there is nothing fantastic there, but that’s the point. Whether you are average Joe, an Indie Musician, or someone cool, there are actually people in the world who are interested in your life.

Here’s the thing! Life happens in the mundane detail. The cool thing about twitter is that it emphasizes the point that a person is interesting because of the views they take, the way they react to things, and the places they go to and from. Do you see what I mean?

Oh, and if you try to tell me that you don’t have time to twitter, please. It takes less than 30 seconds. If you don’t have time to say what you’re doing right at the moment you are trying way to hard to sound awesome. You might not be awesome if you have to try to make it sound like you are. Sorry.

You are interesting simply because you are doing what you do. We don’t care what it is. If we are friends its just cool to know who you really are. And I easily have 500 more things to say about all this but I have to get to a paper that’s due—it is finals week and I am behind. Are you on twitter yet? If you aren’t than tell me why?

Well, I am certainly a bad blogger. It’s been almost 3 whole days since I have posted. My apologies. I have totally missed you guys though.

Now comes the excuse part right? I blame it on my pending EP recording. I am so freakn excited about this thing. I am spending every moment that I can spare or free up—or ditch other obligations to get—so that I can work on my songs.

Yeah the songs are all complete but there is a lot of work involved still. I am not a perfectionist on much, but when it comes to my songs, I totally am! I am doing a great deal of iTunes downloading. Good music is good inspiration. And a little bad music helps know what to avoid (not sure which is more valuable).

At any rate. I will try to be a better blogger. And you could totally help me on this. I see by my Web stats that there are quite a few people stopping by everyday. I would love your comments because I am totally interested in interacting with everybody who is taking the time to stop by. So leave a comment so that I can see what you are thinking. Tell me some good or bad music that you are listening to (or not listening to). Or just say hi like it’s Myspace. Are you in? The comment button is on the upper right of the blog so go there right now and hit it and let me know that you are here. Thanks for being a friend. Comment.

Today is what I consider day one of my entry into the world of blogging. I am not counting the actual day one because that was merely hello. Granted it was the real day one but whatever. On this day one, I am interested in learning what blogging is all about. I have never really read blogs so I decided to do a little inquiry as to what the scene is all about.

Since I only know one real blogger, I decided to do a little Google search of Brody Harper. To my amusement, several pages of results came up all of which referred to the Brody that I know. A lot of the results were from his vast activity on the WWW, but much of it was other people referencing his work. He is referred to as the blog guru, as changing the Christian music industry, and one referred to him, very affectionately as, “the man”.

So now I am going to start bloging as well. I read his stuff and some other guys that he referred me to and I think that I understand how it works: Talk about nothing, something, or nothing that you are clever enough to make sound like something. But most of all, just say it how you see it. Most who do it well aren’t trying to sound awesome. Trying to sound awesome when you’re not, well, it’s ridiculously un-awesome.

So here we go.  Thanks for coming along with me.
