Funny Stuff. After 14 years of leading, my bag is full of weird things. I too do not like music stands, however, I too have a hard time memorizing songs…more so the words. I have to ask myself, “how effectively am I leading my congregation if I’m singing the wrong words 45% of the time?” We wouldn’t tolerate the Sr. Pastor screwing up whatever verse he’s quoting. So…for me anyways….back came the stand. Try not to use it, but I’d rather take a peak than hinder those I’m trying to lead.
Now if I could only keep my beard from getting stuck in the mic cover…..ouch.

just make sure you aren’t following a person singing their own lyrics. That would make them feel really weird that you were signing their song, or it might make them feel like it was the spirit so do that. Although that might be wrong to fake the spirit. mmm get a music stand.
